Ahead of the 2023 General Election, the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, FRCN says it is committed to professionalism, objectivity and ethical reportage in line with the electoral law to ensure the success of the exercise.
Zonal Director of FRCN North Central Mallam Haruna Idris stated this at the end of a meeting with General Managers and Heads of units of the corporation’s FM Stations within the zone in Lafia the Nasarawa State.
The meeting was part of the corporation’s yearly activities to provide opportunity for all General Managers and Heads of units of FRCN FM stations to review their performances in the previous year and make room for improvement, especially in staff productivity.
Addressing the gathering at the end of the one-day engagement, the Zonal Director, North Central of FRCN Mallam Haruna Idris called on the staff to continue to see Radio Nigeria as a rallying point and centre of unity hence the need to remain above board in discharging their duties.
“The biggest challenge we are facing as broadcasters in Radio Nigeria is the forthcoming General Election. We have underscored the need for FRCN to be at the forefront to exhibit its usual professionalism by ensuring that we abide by the NBC code of non-partisanship, of being fair to all parties.”
Mallam Haruna Idris also used the medium to unveil the maiden edition of the award for excellence which was initiated to encourage hard work and optimal productivity among the staff of the corporation.
General Manager, Precious FM Lafia Alhaji Ibrahim Abimiku who emerged as the best Performing General Manager in FRCN North Central Zone said the award was a stronger call for dedication and commitment.
Chairman of the Award Committee and Deputy Director FRCN North Central Zonal Headquarters Lafia, Mr Danjuma Akuki said the awardee had distinguished himself, especially in the area of revenue generation in the year 2022.
