2023 Election: Tambuwal Fescribes Type Of Leader Nigeria Needs

As the 2023 general election draws nearer, the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors Forum and Governor of Sokoto State, Alhaji Aminu Tambuwal says Nigeria needs a leader with a broad world view to summount its challenges.

Governor Tambuwal who spoke at the Richard Akinnola birthday lecture in Lagos, also emphasised that the nation needs an incorruptible leader who understands that the best way to fight corruption was by personal examples and by building strong institutions that can withstand shocks and manipulations.

Speaking on the topic, “Security Challenges in Nigeria and it’s Implication for Sustainable Development”, Tambuwal maintained that Nigeria needed a leader in tune with modern technology.

The Sokoto State Governor further noted that, to overcome insecurity, there was need for intelligence gathering and surveillance so that law enforcement agents could be proactive and reasonably predict potential crime with near perfect accuracy rather than being reactive.

The lecture was in honor of the veteran journalist, media law expert and anti military regimes activist Mr. Richard Akinkola who just turned 63.
