Government has been urged to decentralise the ongoing national identity registration program to guard against the spread of Covid19 and insecurity.
This was disclosed to Radio Nigeria by some residents in Ilorin at the National Identity Management Commission, NIMC office in kwara state.
They said arrangements at the registration centre did not guarantee the required social distancing.
They explained that with the advancement of technology, people should be able to registered in the comfort of their homes without bridging safety protocol.
On his part, a NIMC official who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the commission had put up necessary measures to ensure timely and hitch free registration.
As at the time of filing this report, the Kwara State NIMC Coordinator was not available to speak with our correspondent.
Meanwhile, a large number of people were seen being captured at the registration hall, while others waited patiently for their turn to captured.
