Verification of assets for compensation has commenced at the Wurukum Roundabout to pave the way for the construction of a flyover by the Federal Government.
The exercise is jointly being supervised by the State and Federal Ministries of Works, the Urban Development Board and China Harbour Engineering Company.

Award of a contract for the construction of a flyover at the Wurukum Roundabout was made possible following the request by Governor Hyacinth Alia which was approved and made to be part of the ongoing dualization of the Makurdi Ninth Mile Enugu road.
Permanent Secretary, State Ministry of Works, Housing and Urban Development, Engineer Donald Ikyaaza who said the flyover when completed would add to the beauty of the state expressed optimism that the contractor would carry out the project according to the design.
Engineer Ikyaaza advised those affected and compensated to relocate in order not to stand as obstacles to the project, adding that the Ministry has put in place measures to adequately divert traffic during the construction of the flyover.
Technical Adviser to the Governor on Infrastructure, Engineer Mlumun Ikpahindi assured that the verification would be transparently done so that everyone affected would be captured for compensation as directed by her principal.
Controller, Federal Ministry of Works, Engineer Danladi Mukaila expressed appreciation to the Benue State Government for lifting the burden of compensation off the shoulders of the Federal Government.
General Manager, Urban Development Board, Mr. Ternongo Mede stated that the board would eject anybody who refuses to vacate between two weeks to one month after the assets had been verified and compensation paid.
The representative of China Harbour Engineering Company in the state, Engineer Kator Zaamo who gave the length of the flyover as four hundred meters said the project would be completed along with the road by the end of twenty twenty seven and handed over to the Government.
