The Plateau State Government has reiterated its commitment to building a robust educational system aimed at expanding access to quality education for all citizens.
Governor Caleb Mutfwang made this known during the inauguration of the Governing Councils for state-owned Colleges of Education, held at the Government House, Little Rayfield.
Represented by the Deputy Governor Josephine Piyo, Mutfwang stressed that councils play a crucial role in providing policy direction and ensuring institutions comply with governing laws and regulations.
The Governor urged all the council members to leverage their expertise to boost academic standards, infrastructure development, and policy implementation in the institutions.
Mutfwang also charged the management teams of the various institutions to support and collaborate with the councils in the shared vision of driving educational advancement in the state.
Speaking on behalf of the newly inaugurated governing boards, Council chairman college of Agriculture Garkawa Professor Emmanuel Ndung expressed gratitude to the governor for finding them worthy to serve, pledging that the boards would drive purposeful development in the institutions.
He assured that the councils would operate with purpose, prioritizing development, transparency, and accountability in their duties.
The institutions with newly inaugurated boards include the, College of Agriculture, Garkawa, the College of Arts, Science and Technology, Kurgwi and the school of midwifery.
