The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) Headquarters Chapel, has congratulated two of its esteemed members, Hajia Hadiza Abdulrahman and Mr. Auwal Muhammad, for being honoured with prestigious awards in recognition of their outstanding contributions to journalism and public service.
In a statement jointly signed by the Chairman, Comrade Tersoo Zamber, and the Secretary of the Union, Hassan Hussain, the Chapel described the recognition as a testament to the professionalism, hard work, and dedication of the awardees to the ideals of ethical journalism and national development.
The statement further noted that the honour bestowed on the duo is not only a personal achievement but also a source of pride and inspiration to the entire FRCN Headquarters Chapel and the NUJ family at large.
The Chapel urged other members to emulate their exemplary conduct and commitment to duty, reaffirming its continuous support for excellence, integrity, and professionalism in the media industry.
“We are proud of Hajia Hadiza Abdulrahman and Mr. Auwal Muhammad; their recognition underscores the quality of professionals within our fold and reinforces our collective resolve to uphold the highest standards of journalism,” the statement added.
Meanwhile, Hadiza Abdulrahman has been announced as one of the recipients of the SHE & Rights Media Awards 2025.
The award, tagged “Sexual Health with Equity (SHE) & Rights”, recognises outstanding journalists who amplify issues around sexual and reproductive health and rights, under the Africa Foundation for Young Media Professionals women fellowship in Bogotá, Colombia, during the International Conference on Family Planning (ICFP) 2025 a global gathering of policymakers, advocates, development partners, and media working to advance family planning and reproductive health.
Auwal Muhammad was recognised as the Winner of the Radio Category of the 9th Edition of the Open Forum on Agricultural Biotechnology, the Nigerian Chapel (OFAB) for the 2025 Media Award held in Abuja.
