Political leaders have been urged to support the greater inclusion of women in politics and governance at all levels, enabling them to contribute to nation-building.
The state coordinator of the Kwara State Female Aspirants Group, Hajiya Zainab Abbas, made the call during the official launch of the group, held at the APC secretariat in Ilorin.
According to her, the launching of the group will enable them to mentor and mobilize women across the 16 local government areas of the state.
Hajiya Abbas called for strengthening solidarity among female aspirants to enable them to complement government efforts in implementing the Renewed Hope Vision.
In her paper presentation titled “Women and Our Place In Politics -What It Entails,” the guest speaker, Hajiya Hauwa Bashir, said politics is about representation, service, and decision making in which women are central.
Earlier in her address of welcome, a woman leader in Kwara state, Modupe Adejuwon, urged women to work as a United team to enable them to achieve success.
