Super Eagles head coach, Eric Chelle, has announced a 24-man squad ahead of Nigeria’s campaign at the 2026 FIFA World Cup African Play-off Tournament in Morocco.
The list, released on Saturday, features players, including Victor Osimhen, Ademola Lookman, and Alex Iwobi, as Nigeria seeks to secure qualification for the Mundial to be jointly hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
Goalkeeper Maduka Okoye returns to the national team after resuming club duties with Udinese, following a two-month suspension by Italian football authorities over betting violations.
Nigeria will face Gabon in the first semi-final of the play-off tournament on November 13 at the Complexe Sportif Prince Héritier Moulay El Hassan in Rabat. Cameroon will take on the Democratic Republic of Congo in the second semi-final later that day.
Winners of both semi-final matches will meet in the final three days later at the same venue, with the winner earning Africa’s sole spot in the intercontinental playoff.
Despite serving a one-match suspension for two yellow cards accumulated during the main qualifying phase, defender Oluwasemilogo Ajayi has been included in the squad and will be available should Nigeria reach the final.
