Kogi State Governor, Usman Ododo has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to positioning the state as a preferred destination for energy-intensive industries, manufacturing, and agro-processing.
Governor Ododo stated this at the Ajaokuta–Kaduna–Kano (AKK) Gas Pipeline Project Business Development Roadshow, held at the Government House, Lokoja, with the theme “Accelerating Domestic Gas Utilisation and Driving the CNG Revolution along the AKK Corridor.”
He described the state as a “Confluence of Multiple Opportunities,” citing its rich endowment of 32 mineral resources, vast arable land, numerous tourist attractions, and strategic location bordering ten states and the Federal Capital Territory.
The Governor noted that the AKK project reflects President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s commitment to driving an energy transition towards cleaner power and positioning Nigeria as an emerging economic superpower.
He said his government was fully aligned with the President’s vision by promoting investment and transforming the state into the platform for Nigeria’s new energy revolution.
Ododo assured potential investors of his administration’s readiness to provide a conducive business environment, emphasizing efforts to secure the AKK pipeline corridor through effective surveillance and safety measures.
According to him, the government was also working to enhance the ease of doing business, reform regulatory processes, and provide incentives to genuine investors in key sectors.
In his remarks, the Vice President of PI CNG, Mr. Olalekan Ogunleye, disclosed that the AKK Gas Pipeline Project was nearing completion, with 83.05 percent of the mainline finished as of July 2025.
He explained that the project, when completed, would deliver up to 2.2 billion standard cubic feet of gas per day, which would power industries, generate electricity in Abuja, Kaduna, and Kano, and create employment opportunities across the country.
