The Kogi State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has charged its newly trained officers to confront crimes and criminality with professionalism and competence.
The State Commandant, CC Aleetan Olumide Ebenezer gave the charge during the passing-out parade of seventy-three officers and men of Course thirteen in weapons handling and mop-up training, held in Lokoja.
Commandant Aleetan emphasized that professionalism and expertise are critical in addressing emerging security challenges, particularly in the western axis of the State.
He urged the officers to remain committed to making the state safer by suppressing the activities of criminal elements.
He attributed the Corp’s growing successes across the country to the strategic reforms and leadership direction of the Commandant General, CG Ahmed Abubakar Audi, and reminded the graduating officers to prioritize service above self while maintaining discipline even under provocation.
In his remarks, the Review Officer of the parade and Brigade Commander of the 12 Brigade, Nigerian Army, Brigadier General Kasim Umar Sidi, commended the trainees for their dedication and urged them to be proficient in weapons handling and discharge their constitutional duties effectively.
Some of the graduating officers expressed readiness to apply the knowledge and skills acquired to enhance the Corp’s operational efficiency.
Highlights of the ceremony included silent drills, rifle stripping and coupling, street-clearing demonstrations, and VIP protection exercises.
