The Member representing Yagba East Constituency in the Kogi State House of Assembly, Emmanuel Obaro, has commissioned a series of community development projects aimed at boosting security, empowering women, and enhancing local infrastructure.
The inauguration ceremony, held at the Itedo-Makutu Central Garage in Isanlu, featured the official presentation of patrol vehicles and motorcycles to security agencies, the commissioning of newly constructed lock-up shops, distribution of cash support grants to market women, renovation of classrooms at Community Secondary School, Isanlu, and the construction of drainage systems in flood-prone areas.
Speaking at the event, Obaro said the initiatives underscore his commitment to people-oriented governance focused on empowerment, education, and community safety.
On economic empowerment, he noted that the lock-up shops would provide traders and artisans with safer and more conducive workspaces, while the cash grants would help market women expand their businesses and support their families.
Chairman of Yagba East Local Government, Joshua Dare Monday, commended the lawmaker for his developmental strides and assured him of the council’s continuous partnership to improve the welfare and security of residents.
In his remarks, the Oluagba of Isanlu Makutu, His Royal Highness Oba Ayo, described the projects as timely and impactful, lauding Obaro for his dedication to grassroots development.
Some beneficiaries of the empowerment programme also expressed appreciation to the lawmaker, noting that the financial support would go a long way in growing their small-scale businesses.
