Public Relations Practitioners have been urged to navigate the complexities of protocol function in the profession, to achieve organisational goals and maintain corporate reputation.
Fellow of the Nigeria Institute of Public Relations NIPR, Mr. HAROUN AUDU gave the adviced at the 2025 Annual General Meeting, Award Ceremony and Get- together of the Plateau State Chapter of the Institute, held in Jos.
Speaking at the year’s Annual General Meeting Award Ceremony and Get- together of the NIPR Plateau State Chapter, a Fellow of the Institute, HAROUN AUDU said protocol in PR ensures professionalism, respect and credibility in every engagement.
He explained that for a functional PR, using proper channels and respecting confidentiality in protocoling should be keywords for a public Relation pratitiners .
The Council Member of NIPR Prof. SARAH LWAHAS called on members to put in their best PR practice towards bringing solutions to challenges bedevilling the nation.
The chairman NIPR Plateau State Chapter Mr. THOMAS BAJE while giving a scorecard of its activities, said the Executive has worked tenaciously in making sure that the Chapter remains visible and relevant at the national scene as well as enhances Public Relations practice within the state.
He, however, decried lack of office space as one of the challenges of the chapter owing it to scarcity of funds.
The event featured award presentation to some members, including the General Manager of Radio Nigeria Highland FM, Mrs. PATIENCE JATAU and the former Chairman NIPR Plateau State Chapter, Mr. FWENJI GO’AR.
Some of the awardees, Professor TAYE OBATERU and Mr James manok said the award would motivate them to work harder and encouraged others to be commitment in service.
Guest were thereafter served sumptuous meal and entertained with good music.
