Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Usman Ododo, has called on members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to actively participate in the ongoing electronic registration exercise aimed at expanding the party’s membership base across the state.
The governor made the call during an APC stakeholder’s meeting held at the Government House in Lokoja.
He stressed that the exercise was crucial to strengthening the party and ensuring effective participation of members at all levels.
Represented by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Mrs. Folashade Arike, Governor Ododo described the electronic registration as a welcome development and urged party stakeholders to intensify grassroots mobilisation to maximise the success of the exercise.
He noted that party membership can no longer be recognised without digital registration, emphasizing the need for effective supervision across wards and polling units to guarantee a smooth and credible process.
Also speaking, the Kogi State Chairman of the APC, Alhaji Abdullahi Bello, said the electronic registration exercise was designed to strengthen internal democracy, build a credible membership database, and opened to all individuals who share the party’s ideology.
According to him, the registration would be conducted at designated centres across the state by authorised registrants and party agents.
He appealed to stakeholders and political appointees to ensure a peaceful and conducive environment for the exercise to succeed.
