The Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja, has reiterated its commitment to discipline, campus security and academic integrity as it matriculated 4,591 new students into its various academic programmes.
Speaking at the 33rd matriculation ceremony, the Rector, Professor Salisu Ogbo Usman, warned that the institution would not tolerate any form of social vices, stressing that moral discipline and academic honesty remain central to the Polytechnic’s philosophy.
He urged the newly admitted students to make good use of the opportunities provided by the institution and to conduct themselves in ways that would bring honour to their families, the Polytechnic and the country.
Professor. Usman also emphasized the importance of adequate security on campus, noting that a safe and orderly environment was necessary for effective learning and character development.
The Rector noted that his administration has promoted inclusive leadership through transparency, improved staff welfare and the integration of student leadership into governance processes.
He said these measures were part of ongoing efforts to reposition the institution as a reference point for excellence in polytechnic education in Nigeria.
