Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has assured Corps members that those who initiate impactful projects at their places of primary assignment will be duly rewarded.
The Governor gave the assurance during the swearing-in ceremony of Batch A Stream One Corps members deployed to the state, held at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Keffi.
Governor Sule who congratulated the Corps members on the successful completion of their studies in various institutions across the country, urged them to be law-abiding during and after the orientation exercise.
Represented by the State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Mr. Yakubu Kwanta, the Governor reiterated the state government’s commitment to improving the welfare of Corps members and encouraged them to harness the state’s abundant resources for economic development.
The State Co-ordinator of the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, Mrs Salamatu Muhammad, appreciated the government and people of Nasarawa State for their continued support to the scheme, which she said has contributed significantly to the growth of the NYSC in the state.
Mrs Salamatu described the orientation exercise as a platform designed to prepare Corps members physically and mentally, as well as to instil discipline, patriotism, and a collective sense of responsibility during and after their national service.
Some of the newly sworn-in Corps members pledged to exhibit good behaviour throughout the orientation exercise and their one-year national service.
A total of two thousand, two hundred Corps members, comprising one thousand, one hundred and ninety females and one thousand and ten males, were sworn-in to begin the compulsory one-year national service in Nasarawa State.
