The Northern Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, has distributed assorted food items to survivors of herdsmen attacks in Yelewata, Guma and Gwer West Local Government Areas of Benue State.
Performing the presentation at the CAN Secretariat in Makurdi, Chairman of the Association, Reverend John Hayap, said the donation of one thousand bags of twenty- five KG of rice, beans, maize and garri as well as gallons of palm and vegetable oil, sugar, Maggi and salt were targeted to benefit one thousand families.


Reverend Hayap explained that a similar gesture, which was extended to survivors in Plateau, Borno, Kaduna and Ondo States was made possible through the support of Barnabas Aid, and urged them to continue to support humanity, especially those in need.
The CAN Chairman, North Central, Reverend Jona Samson while praying for peace and safe return of the IDPs to their ancestral homes, commended the Barnabas Aid for making available the items and called for transparent distribution.
Special Adviser to Governor Hyacinth Alia on Religion and Societies, Apostle King-David Ajav, expressed gratitude to the leadership of CAN for the relief materials and prayed that God should replenish them.
Some of the beneficiaries: Ruth Kyakyor, Abraham Asongo and Ejuma Ubeke appreciated and prayed to God to bless the donors, saying that the food items would go a long way in alleviating their sufferings.
