The Zonal committee of Management meeting of Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria FRCN,North Central zone has ended with far reaching resolutions to step up performance in dissemination of factual and timely information through objective, balance news reportage and programming.
The committee also resolved to embark on training and retraining of staff particularly reporters and Presenters ahead of the 2027 general elections to refresh their memories on the do’s and don’ts before and during electioneering and election proper.





The Zonal Director FRCN North Central zone,Mallam Babayo Askira urged the General Managers of FM stations under the zone to engage governments, private organizations and individuals in their various states on possible ways of collaboration to ensure quality broadcasting and enhance internally generated revenue.
The zonal Director who commended the commitment and consistency of reporters under the zone for their contribution to the network news, gave an assurance to provide additional working tools for optimal performance.
Babayo Askira however frowned at reported cases of truancy,indiscipline and other related misconduct that attracts disciplinary measures against staff in some of the FM stations.
The General manager of Highland FM Jos was declared the best General manager of the year 2024 in the zone for outstanding performance..
Farewell prayers were offered for Assistant Director Engineer Sani Zakari who retired from service this week.
This was the maiden zonal committee of management meeting under the new zonal Director Mallam Babayo Askira who was redeployed from the North East zonal headquarters to the North Central office last year.
