The Kogi State Government has called for closer collaboration with local government authorities and private investors to accelerate the development of solid minerals across the state.
The newly appointed State Director of Solid Mineral Resources, Doctor. Johnson Musa, made the appeal shortly after resuming office in Lokoja, stressing the need for strategic partnerships to fully harness the state’s abundant mineral deposits.
Doctor. Musa said the administration of Usman Ododo was committed to working with critical stakeholders to unlock the state’s mineral potential and translate it into tangible economic growth.
According to him, the Governor’s drive to diversify the state’s economy places solid mineral exploration and development at the forefront of his policy priorities.
He noted that achieving meaningful progress in the sector would require sustained cooperation between the state government, local councils, and private sector players.
The Director reaffirmed the ministry’s determination to ensure optimal utilization of Kogi’s mineral resources, expressing confidence that the renewed focus on the sector would boost economic activities and improve the living standards of residents under the current administration.
