The Executive Secretary, Tertiary Education Trust Fund TETFUND, Arc. Sonny Echono has inaugurated the Disease Surveillance Centre and the Multi-Omics and Global Health International Laboratory MOGHIL, of the University of Jos.
Speaking after inaugurating the projects, the Executive Secretary TETFUND,Arc Sonny Echono noted that, the project was supported by TETFund under the 2024 Special Intervention, as part of efforts to address critical national health care challenges.

The Executive Secretary noted that TETFund will continue to identify with the University of Jos in its unwavering commitment to providing a conducive environment for teaching and research as part of its core mandate.
Earlier, the Vice Chancellor University of Jos, Professor Tanko Ishaya appreciated TETFUND for it’s support to the University of Jos and called for additional assistance to the institution.

The Vice Chancellor added that, the landmark achievement by the university is a clear demonstration of visionary and purposeful leadership of the management of the institution and its commitment to excellence.
Papers were presented by the former Vice Chancellor, Professor Hayward Mafuyai and Professor Abraham Dogo on the theme: Disease surveillance Laboratory Principal Investigator ” which both demonstrated means, methods as well as gadgets that would further the University’s research and add value to humanity.

Highlights of the event was visitation of the projects sites and group photography.
