Kogi State has won three medals at the ongoing 3rd National Para Games holding at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja.
Docas Tanimu and Rashidat Isa clinched silver medals in rifle shooting, while Albert Megbehingbe secured a bronze medal in the men’s 80kg para powerlifting event.

The feat has placed Kogi State on the medals table of the tournament.
Speaking with journalists, the coach of the rifle shooting team, Ali Yusuf Adagiri, described the performance of his athletes as outstanding, noting that they narrowly missed out on gold medals.
He expressed appreciation to Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and the Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Mr .Aridaojo Monday Anyebe, for their support.
Similarly, the powerlifting coach, Blessing Idoko, commended her athlete for his performance and thanked the state government for ensuring Kogi State’s participation in the games, marking its maiden appearance.

Reacting to the achievement, the Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Mr. Aridaojo Monday Anyebe, represented by the Director of Sports Development in the ministry, Mr. Aje Paul, congratulated the athletes for making the state proud.
He assured them of the governor’s continued support for sports development in the state.
Also speaking, the Director of the Kogi State Sports Council, Mr. Igah Abel James, appreciated the state government for sponsoring the athletes and their coaches, and appealed for sustained support to further enhance sporting activities in the state.
