The Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI), a pet project of Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, has launched the “Flow with Confidence” project in Kogi State.
Speaking at the ceremony organised for schoolgirls in Lokoja, the First Lady emphasised the importance of the initiative in promoting menstrual hygiene and boosting confidence among young girls.

Represented by the Wife of the Kogi State Governor, Hajia Sefinat Usman Ododo, she noted that the project is being launched simultaneously in selected states across the country, with plans to distribute 370,000 packs nationwide.
She explained that the initiative is designed to support schoolgirls, particularly in rural areas, who often face challenges managing menstruation due to limited access to sanitary products.
According to her, the project will provide beneficiaries with a one-year supply of sanitary pads to ensure that menstruation does not disrupt their education.
She also called on corporate organisations and individuals to support the initiative, while urging traditional and religious leaders to assist in monitoring the distribution of the sanitary products.
The First Lady encouraged the beneficiaries to remain committed to their education and pursue their aspirations.
Kogi State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Acharu Okpanachi, reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to the objectives of the Renewed Hope Initiative, aimed at improving the health, dignity, and social well-being of women and girls.
Also speaking, the State Commissioner for Education, Wemi Jones, and the Commissioner for Health, Doctor. Abdulazeez Adams, alongside other officials, highlighted the impact of the initiative, noting its alignment with the mandates of their respective ministries and agencies.
