As Muslims across the world observe the Day of Arafah, they have been encouraged to use the occasion for spiritual renewal, prayers for divine intervention, and seeking Allah’s forgiveness.
An Islamic scholar, Imam Ahmed Musa, gave the advice during an interview with Prime FM correspondent in Lokoja.
Imam Musa explained that the Day of Arafah, observed on the ninth day of the Islamic lunar calendar, holds great spiritual significance for Muslims worldwide.
According to him, Arafah marks the peak of the Hajj pilgrimage, when pilgrims gather at Mount Arafah to demonstrate their devotion and commitment to Allah ahead of the Eid al-Adha celebration.
He noted that for Muslims who are not participating in Hajj, the Day of Arafah remains an important period for fasting, prayers, spiritual reflection, and seeking Allah’s mercy.
Imam Musa urged Muslim faithful to engage in supplication and repentance, stressing the need to seek forgiveness for their shortcomings and pray for peace and divine intervention.
He further stated that the Day of Arafah is historically significant because it was the day Prophet Muhammad delivered his farewell sermon during his final pilgrimage.
