The Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, has called on Nigerians to embrace the virtues of sacrifice, peace, unity and support for the less privileged as Muslims celebrate Eid-el-Adha.
Governor Ododo made the call shortly after observing the Eid prayer at the Okene Eid praying ground in Kogi State.
The governor said Eid-el-Adha symbolizes love, compassion, sacrifice and peaceful coexistence, urging citizens to continue praying for the unity, peace and progress of Nigeria.
He also appealed to Nigerians to support and pray for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other leaders, stressing the need for wisdom and divine guidance in governance.
Governor Ododo reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to sustaining peace and security across the state, describing security as a collective responsibility that requires collaboration among government, security agencies and citizens.
The governor further stated that the ongoing rebranding campaign in the state is aimed at projecting the state positively and attracting investment, tourism and economic opportunities.
He urged residents to remain vigilant, provide useful information to security agencies and continue working together for the peace, development and progress of Kogi State and Nigeria.
