The Federal College of Education, Technical Keana, has officially matriculated 807 pioneer students into its Nigerian Certificate in Education (NCE) programmes for the 2025/2026 academic session.
The historic ceremony, held at the college’s take-off site in Keana, marked the beginning of academic activities for the institution. Addressing the newly admitted students, the Provost, Dr. Yusuf Abdullaho Ogwuzebe, charged them to be of good behaviour, emphasizing that as pioneers, they bear the responsibility of setting a positive legacy for the college.
“You are the foundation upon which this institution will be built. I charge you to be of good behaviour and avoid cultism, examination malpractice, and other social vices. Your conduct will define the image of this college for generations to come,” Dr. Ogwuzebe warned.

The Provost also urged the students to embrace discipline, academic excellence, hard work, and the core values of technical innovation, noting that FCE(T) Keana remains committed to producing highly skilled technical and vocational educators capable of contributing meaningfully to national development.
Dr. Ogwuzebe specifically appreciated the member representing Awe/Doma and Keana Federal Constituencies, Honourable Abubakar Nalaraba Sadaukin Lafia, whose legislative initiative at the National Assembly gave birth to the institution, as well as Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State for his support in securing a Certificate of Occupancy for the college’s permanent site, donating a 300KVA generating set, and a Toyota Hiace 18-seater bus. The Provost also revealed that the state government has donated the School for the Deaf, Keana, to serve as the college’s permanent take-off site.
The highlight of the event was the administration of the matriculation oath by the college registrar, Dr. Muhammad Jamil Zakari, after which the newly admitted students collectively pledged allegiance to the rules and regulations governing the institution.
The ceremony was attended by principal officers of the college, deans of schools, heads of departments, traditional rulers, parents, guardians, and other dignitaries from the education sector.
