To uplift the people and unite the states in the North Central region, and other states in the Country.
History:
The North Central Zone was one of three zones established in 2014 by the Federal Government. This was done to expand the reach of the FRCN, and improve information dissemination, and create opportunities for staff progression. The North Central Zone was created from the Abuja National Station.
Mr. Sylvanus Namang was the pioneer Zonal Director, serving from 2014 until his retirement in 2018. He was followed by a brief acting period by the most senior Deputy Director, Mr. Akin Ero-Phillips, Mallam Haruna Idris was appointed as the substantive Zonal Director in 2019.
The Zone oversees five FM stations, with the Zonal Headquarters serving as an administrative office to coordinate the broadcasting and managerial operations of these stations.
Structure:
The Zone has a Management Committee at the Zonal Office, which is responsible for implementing policy and standards. The Zonal Director serves as the Accounting Officer and Chief Executive Officer of the Zone.
The Zonal Director, all Deputy Directors, Heads of Sub-Directorates at the Zonal Headquarters, and the General Managers of the five FM stations are responsible for the day-to-day running of the zone. The five stations are:
* Precious FM (Lafia)
* Prime FM (Lokoja)
* Harvest FM (Makurdi)
* Harmony FM (Idofian)
* Highland FM (Jos)
Stations:
* PRECIOUS FM 102.5 – Lafia was established in 13th March, 2003
* HARVEST FM 103.5 – Makurdi was established in 2007
* HIGHLAND FM 101.5 – Jos was established in 6th November, 2009
* HARMONY FM 103.5 – Ilorin was established in 2009
* PRIME FM 101.5 – Lokoja was established in 2009
