President, Aviation Roundtable (ARTSI) Dr. Gbenga Olowo has urged the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria FAAN to get the three codes for the terminals at the Lagos Airport from the International Civil Aviation Organization, ICAO.
He said with the codes, passengers missing their flights, locating which terminal to go and board their flights would be addressed.
Dr. Olowo lists the four terminals which include, the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), and three domestic terminals and the Murtala Muhammed Airport Two (MMA2).
Speaking at the virtual meeting organized by the League of Airports and Aviation correspondents LAAC, with the theme: Nigeria’s Aviation: Changing Times, Strategies, Dr. Olowo advised the Management of FAAN, led by Captain Rabiu Yadudu to take a cue from other airports across the world with multiple terminals and ICAO codes to differentiate each terminal.
“ICAO Codes are needed to clearly differentiate the airport terminals for interlining reservation purposes. Passengers at departure origins, interlining, and doing flight connections have missed their flights several times reporting to a wrong terminal especially to MMA2.
