Academic Staff Union of Polytechnic (ASUP) has embarked on an indefinite strike.
President of the union, Anderson Ezeibe, announced this at a press briefing in Abuja on Tuesday morning.
According to the president of the union, members of ASUP have agreed to indefinitely shut all the Nigerian Polytechnics until their demands are met.
The Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu had on Monday, called for an emergency meeting with the union to avert the proposed strike action.
ASUP’s strike comes up few months after the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) called off its nine-month strike in January this year.
