The Economic sector in Benue state has received the highest allocation of fifty six point eight billion naira in next year’s budget presented to the state House of Assembly by Governor Samuel Ortom.
Social sector of the state got forty six point nine billion naira while the administrative sector was allocated forty three point eight billion naira.
The law and Justice sector got the least allocation of eight point one billion naira.
Commenting a lecturer in the Department of Economics, Benue state University,Dr Ayila Ngutsav described the highest allocation to the economic sector as a step on the right direction but advised that more funds be charneled to Agriculture to boost production and also reduced Prices of food stuff.
Dr Ngutsav called for strict implementation of the budget if eventually passed by the state Assembly.
