Benue state House of Assembly has passed the next year’s budget of one hundred and seventy-nine point Eight billion naira.
A breakdown of the budget shows that Recurrent Expenditure stands at one hundred and six point two billion naira while capital Expenditure is seventy-three point six billion with a deficit financing of forty billion naira.
Chairman House committee on appropriation, Peter Enemari informed his colleagues that most of the MDA’S engaged in extra-budgetary expenditure in the current year’s budget and stressed the need to desist from the act.
After a clause-by-clause consideration of the bill, the Deputy Speaker, Christopher Adaji who presided over the plenary directed that it should be read the third time and was accordingly passed.
Mr Adaji cautioned the MDA not to engage in extra-budgetary expenditure warning that anyone found wanting would face the law.
It was The same figure presented by the executive to the lawmakers on the Eight of last month that was approved by the House.
