Benue State House of Assembly Passes Into Law 2021 Budget

Benue State House of Assembly has passed a budget of one hundred and thirty-four point four billion naira for the Year twenty twenty-one.

A breakdown shows that the Recurrent Expenditure is allocated Ninety one point six billion naira while capital expenditure received forty-two point eight billion with Domestic loans, Bond and deficit financing standing at twenty-three point eight billion naira.

Making a way for passage of the budget, Chairman House Standing Committee on Appropriation, Peter Enemari said the additional increase of one Point eight billion to the original one hundred and thirty-two point six billion presented by the Executive was as a result of additional request by public sector entities for inclusion of some critical projects omitted from the proposed estimates.

Contributing, the Deputy Speaker, Mr Christopher Adaji noted the good intentions of the budget and called for strict implementation.

After a clause by clause consideration of the bill, Speaker, Mr Titus Uba directed that it should be read the third time and was accordingly passed.

Assembly correspondent, Umar Salifu reports that the twenty-twenty-one budget is higher than the revised estimates for this year by twenty three point eight billion naira.
