Benue State To partner Organizations Towards Peaceful Development

Benue State lawmakers have expressed willingness to partner genuine organizations towards promoting sustainable peace and development in the state.

Speaker,Mr Titus Uba stated this when he played host to the consultant and facilitator of United Nations Development Programme, UNDP, Professor Mojeed Alabi and his team in his office at the Assembly complex in makurdi.

Mr Uba told the team that the state open grazing prohibition and ranches establishment law was one of the measures put in place to prevent Farmers-Herders crisis and enjoined them to initiate new ideas that would compliment government effort at encouraging Peace.

Earlier the UNDP Consultant and Facilitator professor Alabi informed the speaker that his team was to interact with stakeholders in the state and collect imputs which would be drafted inform of a bill and sent to the Assembly for passage.

He explained that the passage would paved the way for the establishment of a peace commission in the state and solicited their support.#
