Nasarawa state ministry of health says it has recorded over eight hundred cases of cholera in the state
The director public health in the ministry Doctor Ibrahim Adamu who gave the figure in an interview with radio Nigeria precious FM in lafia said fifthy one death has so far been recorded in ten local government area in the state
Dr Ibrahim attributed the outbreak of the disease to open defecation by the people of the affected communities
He however noted that measures have been put in place to commence strict enforcement of law against open defecation in the state
Correspondent Hanatu Aboki report that the ministry has embarked on sensitization campaign on dangers of such unhygienic practice.
