Committee Investigate Inability Of Local Government Council To Effect Payment of Personnel

Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has expressed commitment towards assisting local government Chairmen to pay one month outstanding local government pension Arrears in the State.

Governor Sule Disclosed this during an Emergency meeting with the local government Chairmen, and the Director general pension Bearau at the government house lafia.

Appreciating the role played by the local government Chairmen towards ensuring peace and security in their respectives local government, governor Abdullahi Sule also showered accolade on them for maintaining the payment of pension inline with the law of fifteen percent of pension.

On the support promised by the state government to assist the local government Chairmen when the second trenche of state phisical transparency Accountability and sustainability SIFTACE, governor Sule explained that government will support the local government Chairmen to enable them pay one month pension arrears

He expressed regret that though they were not able to pay the pensioners before Christmas, but believed that the payment will go along way in cautioning the hardship being faced by the pensioners and thier families.

On the forthcoming local government election in the State, the governor said one of the major problem facing the election is funding, but advocated the need for credible candidate to be elected by the people.

The State number one citizen also used the medium to update the local government Chairmen on the Covid nineteen cases in the State, as according to him the number of the cases is on increase as at yesterday fifty new cases were confirmed, urging them to continue to sensitize people on the need to exercise restrain on all the safety measures to cutail further Spreed of the Disease.
