People residing in most communities in Wamba Local Government Area, (LGA) of Nasarawa State, have decried negligence of their welfare and well-being by elected Representatives and lawmakers in the zone since 1999.

They explained that endorsing the reelection of Senator Godiya Akwashiki under the Social Democratic party, SDP, would enable the lawmaker to continue his transformational agenda of providing basic social amenities, especially to residents in rural areas.

Village Heads of the entire Arum and Yashi Communities in Wamba LGA: Alhaji Yakubu Ibrahim and Godwin Biko said, they are extremely happy over the visit of the lawmaker, and his quest in providing them with some basic needs.

According to the kingmakers, political leaders with proven integrity deserved to be reelected to extend dividends of democracy to other rural communities.

Some youths of Arum and Yashi Communities: Sule Musa, Aisha Ibrahim, Peace David and Abdulkareem Musa said previously elected lawmakers gave deaf ears to their continuous appeal for the provision of good roads, healthcare centres and clean water which, in their absence, had taken lives of their loved ones before taken them to hospital in the city.

While stressing that the construction of local bridges and schools in the areas is carried out by the community with no support from the government, resolved to reelect the lawmaker because he is the only politician identifying with them in times of their needs.

Addressing the people of Arum and Yashi Communities, Senator Godiya Akwashiki who said those in rural areas also deserve a better life, noted that it gives him joy seeing the poor expressing relief over the provision of electricity and construction of roads that would link the communities, thereby addressing their healthcare and agricultural challenges among others.

Senator Godiya Akwashiki, therefore, called on the residents to provide an environment conducive for contractors to enable them to execute their responsibilities, for the betterment of the communities and Wamba LGA as a whole.

Wamba is one of the three Local Government Areas in Nasarawa State situated in Nasarawa North Senatorial District with Akwanga and Nassarawa-Eggon as other LGAs that make up the zone.
