Court Frees Atiku’s Son-in-Law

A Federal High Court sitting in Lagos has set free, a son-in-law to former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, Abdullahi Babalele, who was arraigned on a two-count charge for laundering $140,000, about N55m.

The Judge, Justice Chukwujekwu Aneke said the charge should have been filed in Abeokuta in Ogun State where the alleged offence was committed not in Lagos State.

He said the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) should file the charge appropriately based on territorial jurisdiction.
