Director General Bureau for Information and Communication Technology, Nasarawa State Mallam Shehu Ibrahim has called on Telecommunication Providers in the country to reduce cost of data as part of steps towards assisting the low income earners affected by the COVID 19 Pandemic.
Mallam Shehu Ibrahim made call in an interview with Radio Nigeria in Lafia.
He said as part of measures to ensure that the education sector is not adversely effected by the COVID 19 Pandemic, the state government had concluded plans to commence online learning for primary and secondary schools children.
Mallam Shehu Ibrahim noted that the COVID 19 Pandemic had virtually grounded every sectors of the economy hence the need for Telecommunication Service Providers to contribute their parts by reducing costs of data to carry every citizens along.
The Director General stated that over ten thousand civil servants in the state had been captured to be trained in information technology for optimal productivity.
