COVID-19: Kogi Gov State Trains Health Workers

Kogi state government has organized a two day training for health workers on covid-19 in the state

Speaking at the training programme, Kogi state coordinator world Health Organization Mr Ken Adejor called on health workers and other citizens to use all the necessary personal protective equipment to prevent themselves from being infected by the virus.

Mr Adejor who was speaking on the covid-19 pandemic overview and global response, stressed the need for proper identification of the virus, proper documentation and notifying the disease surveillance notification officer to enable the suspected patients get the care they need.

The state epidermologist Doctor Austin Ojotule while speaking on the situation report, and overview of Kogi state preparedness and response, said the state government in its efforts to contain the spread of the virus had constituted a squadron committee, designated an isolation center, and procured some of the necessary equipment.

Doctor Ojotule also disclosed that the state government had embarked on community sensitisation and social mobilization,and training of some of the health personnel

He called on the health workers to report any person showing symptoms of fever, cough,or difficulty in breathing who within fourteen days before the on set of illness had contact with a confirmed case of covid nineteen or had traveled to any of the high risk countries or had been exposed to health care facility where covid nineteen cases have been reported.
