COVID-19: Kwara State Discharges Two Index Cases

Efforts of the Kwara State Technical Committee on COVID-19 have started yielding positive results as two index cases have been discharged.

According to a statement by the Chief Press Secretary to Kwara State Governor, Rafiu Ajakaye, the two patients were discharged this morning after testing negative twice at the Sobi Specialist Hospital, Alagbado, Ilorin.

One of the two patients is the index case and wife of the first suspected case who died at the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital.

The Statement adds that COVID-19 is not a death sentence, stressing that the government will punish anyone who stigmatises any of our patients or members of their families.

It concluded by expressing appreciation of the State Government to the people for their support and understanding at this time of lockdown noting that efforts will not be spared to flatten the curve of transmission and save all of us from this pandemic.
