COVID-19: Law Maker Distributes Hand Sanitizers to Constituents

Member Representing Obi Two Constituency in the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Mr Luka Zhekaba has called on traditional rulers not to relent in spearheading the personal hygiene campaigns to avoid the spread of Corona virus pandemic in the state.

Luka Zhekaba made the call at the palace of a Paramount traditional ruler in the area, the Zhe Mighili during a sensitization campaign against the spread of Corona virus in Agyaragu.

The Law Maker who is the Chairman. House Committee on Housing and Environment said traditional rulers have critical roles to play in ensuring that people at the grassroots adhere to government’s directives as part of measures to curb the spread of the deadly Corona virus and other diseases.

He pointed out that the major preventive measures against contracting Coronavirus are regular hand washing, use of hand sanitizers, social distancing, and
personal hygiene among others.

The Zhe Migili, Dr Ayuba Agwadu said the sensitization campaign was a major eye opener for the people to desist from activities that would promote spread of Corona virus in the state.

The Traditional ruler said they would constitute sensitization committees comprising of district and village heads, religious and youth leaders to embark on house to house campaigns against the spread of COVID 19 pandemic.

Highpoint of the sensitization campaign by the law maker was distribution of hand sanitizers, detergents and face masks to representatives drawn from all the five electoral wards that make up Obi Two State Constituency in Nasarawa State.
