COVID-19: Nasarawa State Suspends All Social Gathering

Nasarawa State Government has suspended all forms of social and religious gatherings across the state.

Briefing journalists in Lafia on behalf of Governor Abdullahi Sule, the State Deputy Governor, Emmanuel Akabe who is also the chairman, Taskforce on Coronavirus maintained that only members of immediate families Will be allowed to gather for such events where it becomes extremely necessary.

Engineer Sule announced Government’s decision to henceforth allow one central motor park to operate in order to monitor the movement of people in and out of the state capital.

The Governor also noted that all markets are to remain closed except those selling food items, pharmaceuticals and patent medicine dealers shall be allowed to operate their stores.

Governor Abdullahi Sule instructed all heads of Ministries, Departments and Agencies to put in place all precautionary measure by providing sanitizers, thermometers, soap, water and encourage staff to imbibe good hygiene and self distancing culture .

He added that government will continue to monitor the situation as five isolation centers have already been activated and Will not hesitate to opt for a total shot down whenever the need arises.
