Nasarawa State Government has stressed the need for callective action to contend spread of COVID 19 pandemic in the rural areas and schools in the state.
Governor Abdullahi Sule made the call at the handover ceremony of water, sanitation and hygiene projects to secondary schools in Wamba Local Government Area of the state.
The project was donated by a Non Governmental Organization, Victim Support Fund Task Force on Covid 19.
Governor Abdullahi Sule represented by the Deputy Governor Dr Emmanuel Akabe said the only way to tackle spread of the pandemic was complete behavioural change in lifestyle and adherence to the safety protocols especially at the rural areas.
Chairperson, Victim Support Fund Task Force on Covid 19, Mrs Toyosi Akerele explained that the gesture was part of the NGO’s emergency intervention towards curtailing the spread of COVID 19 with focus on schools.
Three secondary schools in Wamba local government area of Nasarawa State benefitted from the items which include solar powered boreholes,four hand wash stations,2000 packets of reusable facemasks, sanitizers among others.
