DG NYSC: All Corps Members Must Be Vaccinated Before December 2021

The Director-general (DG) of the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, Brigadier-general Ibrahim Shu’aibu has called on Corps members to avail themselves of the COVID-nineteen vaccination at their places of Primary Assignment in line with Federal Government’s directive.

The DG made the call during the swearing-in of Batch C stream one Corps members at the Magaji Dan Yamusa NYSC permanent orientation camp in Keffi Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.

According to the DG, the orientation course was meant to prepare Corps members physically and mentally for their expected contributions to the development of the country.

Represented by the Nasarawa state Co-ordinator of the scheme, Mr Abdullahi Jikamshi, the Director-general admonished the Corps members to always comply with the COVID-19 prevention protocols throughout the orientation period and beyond, ‘For gaining entry into public offices from December first, 2021, I encourage those of you who are yet to take the vaccine, to do so without further delay as the rule could apply to Corps members in places of Primary Assignment’, he said. ‘Of greater significance is the fact that the vaccine will keep you safe’, the DG added.

He further admonished the Corps members to always demonstrate high level of discipline and patriotism during and after their service year.

Some of the sworn-in Batch C stream one Corps members: Briggs Taribo, Chika Ikwuezuma and Aborotu Dennis said they would avail themselves of vaccination whenever they are called upon.

A total number of one thousand, five hundred and thirty Corps members are deployed to serve their father land in Nasarawa State.
