The Minister Of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola says the Nigeria Immigration Service E-border Surveillance project when completed will help to eliminate the security challenges at the nation’s borders.
Ogbeni Aregbosola stated this at the Pull Out Ceremony of the Sixeetnth Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service, Muhammad Babandede at the Service National Headquarters in Abuja.
He said the project would play a major role in checking immigrants coming into the country Insecurity Bedeviling the country.
The Retired Comptroller General of Immigration Muhammad Babandede during his valedictory speech said the establishment of the Migration Information and Data Analysis System (MIDAS) enables the service to track international crimes and criminal groups for necessary action
He also called on all the Personnel to help sustain, maintain, and implement all the policies put in place under his Leadership.
Alhaji Muhammad Babandede was appointed the Sixteenth Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service on 15th May 2016 by President Muhammad Buhari and retired from Service on Sunday 12th September 2021 after Thirty-Six Years of Meritorious Service.
The baton of leadership has been handed over to the Deputy Comptroller General of Immigration, DCG Idris Isah Jere as Acting Comptroller General who was before now the acting Comptroller-General in charge of the Directorate of Finance and Accounts.
