Federal University of Lafia has established Centre for Agriculture and Rural Development Studies, CARDS, to develop new thinking for efficient and profitable economic activities in rural communities.
The establishment of the Centre followed approval by the University’s Senate in Lafia, the Nasarawa State capital.
At the presentation of a Blueprint for the Centre for Agriculture and Rural Development Studies, CARDS, Vice Chancellor of the institution, Professor Shehu Abdul Rahman said the rural areas constitute high percentage of agricultural production in Nigeria hence the creation of the Centre to serve as linkage between rural areas and cities.
Represented by the Vice Chancellor, Professor Idris Amali, Prof. Abdul Rahman said the CARDS would develop new thinking about efficient and profitable economic activities in rural communities across the country.
