Federal Government has commenced the disbursement of its Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, MSME, Survival Fund to artisans in Kwara State.
The Vocal person for MSME who doubled as contact person for the survival fund in Kwara State Mr Adebayo Lawal , stated this during the Artisan and Transport Support Scheme Town hall in meeting held in Ilorin.
Mr.Lawal said about six thousand six hundred artisans will benefite from the scheme, which was creatmay businesses and government in its wisdom thought about how it could support artisans because they were among those worst hit.
Mr Lawal said Federal Government is also paying six thousand naira to the Corporate Affairs Commission per business to register about six thousand six hundred artisans in each state of the federation and urged them to make use of the opportunity to register their businesses.
The President of Kwara Artisan Association Alhaji Saadu Alawaye said Federal Government needs to make deliberate policies that will boost techincal and vocational skills amongst youths and Artisans as this will give them more opportunities to be employers of labour.
Opakunle Ridwan who is the National President of Information Technology Professional Association suggested that Artisans should be involved in all policies that has to do with their profession noting that most Artisans may not have credentials reconginzed by Federal government but they have the knowledge to train and retrain more people into their various profession.
HFM MGB reports that more than 9000 Artisans are expected to start receiving the sum of Thirty thousand naira grant before the end of this month through the of Federal Government.
