Federal Government has inaugurated over 45 kilometre rural roads in Kokona local government area of Nasarawa State as part of steps to boost agricultural activities and rural development.
At the handing over of the road project to village heads of the benefitting communities in Agwada, Kokona Local Government Area of the state, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Dr Mohammed Abubakar said the roads would ease hardship farmers faced in conveying farm produce.
The minister, represented by State Coordinator Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development Dr. Ikechukwu Ofomata explained that federal government was focusing attention to construction of rural networks given the large quantity of food produce in the areas.
He noted that the road project which are spread across five villages will connect five local government areas mostly within the Western Zone of Nasarawa State and Kogi state without hitches.
In an interview,Village Head of Maraban Agwada Mallam Usman Danladi said the road had given them huge relief considering difficulties they had been passing through to access health care centres and transact other businesses over the years due to bad nature of the roads.
