Stakeholders in the security sub-sector in Kogi state have been enjoined not to relent in their efforts to rid the state of criminal elements.
Kogi state governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello made the call when he inaugurated a health and security facilities at the Kogi state Polytechnic, Lokoja.
Alhaji Yahaya Bello acknowledged that the synergy between the security agencies and other relevant partners within the state had yielded positive results and cautioned perpetrators criminal activities to retrace their steps.
The governor who lauded the Acting Rector for achieving so much within a short period noted that every person in position of authority needed to demonstrate such can do spirit in the midst of scarce resources.
He pointed out that government was keen about transforming the education sector, promising to ensure payment of promotion arrears of staff and warned the public against trespassing on public school land.
In an address, the Acting Rector of the institution, Doctor Salisu Ogbo Usman said the school under his watch converted and remodel the old library to a modern health centre with a total of thirty bed capacity to boost the health needs of staff and students and the host community.
Doctor Ogbo Usman called on the governor to ensure the recruitment of health personnel and facilities, completion of students hostels and construction of pedestrian bridge across the highway to prevent frequent accident that might involve staff and students of the institution.
In a remark, the commissioner for Education Science and Technology Mr Wemi Jones expressed appreciation to the governor for his desire to transform the education sector.
