Govt. Gives Nasarawa United Management Ultimatum To Step Up Clubs Performance

By Nehemiah Gwamna

Nasarawa State Government has given the Management of Nasarawa United Football Club a three-match ultimatum to change the Club’s fortune in the ongoing 2022-2023 Nigeria Professional Football League Season or face the consequence.

The State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Lucky Isaac Yargwa gave the ultimatum during an Emergency Meeting with the Management of the Club in Lafia.

Mr Lucky Yargwa said the decision to give the Club Management the ultimatum became necessary given the team’s current position on the league table is unacceptable to the state government, the sole financier of the club.

He urged the Management, Technical Crew and players of the solid miners to redouble their effort in finding a lasting solution to the problem beginning with their away match to Gombe United this weekend.

Nasarawa United Football Club is currently tenth in Group A of the Abridged league with no points so far in the ongoing season after losing three straight matches.
