Gunmen kill 9 persons in Nasarawa

Nasarawa State Police Command says nine persons have been killed following attack on Ajimaka village in Doma local government area of the state by yet to be identified gunmen.

Police Public Relations Officer in the state ASP Ramhan Nansel who confirmed this to Radio Nigeria in Lafia said Ajimaka is a border community between Benue and Nasarawa States.

ASP Ramhan Nansel stated that upon receipt of the attack on the community, a joint team of Police and Military personnel were deployed to the scene immediately where nine bodies were recovered with multiple machete cuts.

He noted that the state Commissioner of Police, Mr Bola Longe directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the State Criminal and Investigation Department to move to the area and conduct a comprehensive investigation to unravel the misery behind the attack and arrest the perpetrators.

While condoling with the families of the deceased, ASP Ramhan Nansel pointed out that the police would not rest until perpetrators of the dastardly act are brought to book.
