INEC sets for Kwara Assembly by-election

Ballot papers and results sheets  have been dispatched to Patigi Local Government ahead of Saturday’s by-election for Kwara State Assembly seat.

The dispatch which took place at the Central Bank of Nigeria, in Ilorin had in attendance the Resident Electoral Commissioner in Kwara State, Mallam Garba Attahiru-Madami; Resident Electoral Commissioner for Osun State, Mr Segun Agbaje;  Heads of Security Agencies and representatives of the participating political parties.

INEC Head of Electoral Operations in Kwara State, Mr Shehu Baba made this known in Ilorin.

He said that the total numbers of ballot papers dispatched for the Ten wards stands at Fifty-two thousand Two hundred and Thirty-three for all the Registration Area Centers of Patigi Constituency.

Mr Baba said that all the ballot papers are customized according to the Ten Registration Areas in the Local Government.

Representatives of the political parties who witnessed the exercise expressed satisfaction with the manner the election materials was being handled by INEC.

Our Correspondent reports that the electoral materials were dispatched under tight security provided by the Nigeria Police Force.
